I am thinking about where to colo my shiny new servers. There are the questions of bandwidth quality, cost, and support level, which I think I have sorted out. But then there is spam… why does this matter? Well, maybe it doesn’t, that is what I need you help on
My understanding is that when I am assigned IP addresses (I need 3 to start out) that they will of course belong to a block of IP addresses. And that that block of IP addresses may or may not be ‘blacklisted’ by anti-spam organizations. And that if they are on the blacklist then it will hard for me to get my IP addresses off of the lists. And therefore it will be hard for me to send email to people from those IP addresses.
Is this correct?
Also, do some colocation facilities prosecute spammers more than others, and does it make it easier to stay off the black lists?
Any insight deeply appreciated!
Scott
