So I’ve been with ServOnDemand since May 13th and thought I’d post a 3-week review of their services.
Setup
I needed servers in Houston/Dallas, Chicago/Detroit and Washington DC/New York for my needs. For my Detroit/Chicago server needs I decided to go with ServOnDemand.
I placed an order for one of their blade servers, a dual 2.8GHz Xeon with 2GB of RAM for $50/mth. After placing the order I received an email stating that the server would be up within 24 hours. A day later I emailed them for a status update. They actually called me on the phone and told that they were having trouble with their blade implementation but were able to upgrade me to a normal rackmount server with a better CPU at the same price if I was interested in doing so. I took them up on their offer and within the hour I had an email containing my server information.
I appreciated them giving me a call and letting me know what my options were, and besides many companies can take up to 48-72 hours to set up a server so I have no complaints at all about the speed of the server setup. I’m on their cheapest server offer and yet I was still treated like an important customer.
Support
I’ve only used support twice so far in the three weeks I’ve been with them and neither of them have been due to any issues with the server.
A request for reverse-DNS was promptly taken care of within two hours, and a request for an OS reload was also handled very quickly. So far so good.
Server and Network
The server is great, and their network is even better. The servers are based in Southfield, Michigan and the datacenter is multihomed with Cogent, XO, Level3, AT&T, and US Signal.
I’ve been able to burst up to 88mbit on my 100mbit port, which is pretty solid by my estimates.
Summary
I’ve been with other dedicated server providers in the past, some good and some bad. Really, really bad. Thankfully, ServOnDemand is one of the good ones.
All in all, I’ve had nothing to complain about yet. The server and network have been solid and all my questions/support requests have been answered promptly and courteously by Ockie and Ryan at ServOnDemand. I’m thrilled with my service.
I’ll also be posting reviews of BuzzServers and VolumeDrive in the near future.

We had a few people calling into our office recently to see if they could get some help/switch over due to ServOnDemand’s site being down since Christmas.
